Our Story

StudioX bean when Mat Martin and Lawrie Bayldon, come together with the idea to promote their music, Mat come up with the iconic StudioX name and logo (thanks Mat)! Mat managed the business, while Lawrie got to work on the tunes!

Lawrie was born in a small country town in Australia, since he was a child when he began to obsess over music, he paid attention to every instrument that was played, the synthesizers, guitars, drum patterns and more.

He became a musical encyclopedia for all his favourite genres of music back then, being able to recite the year albums were released, and how artists began their journey. As soon as he could he got his hands on musical instruments, before this he would make his own makeshift guitars. Lawrie's dedication would lead him to his first release on the first ever Fresh FM CD! Featuring his song "The Ultimate" when he was just 15 years old!
Lawrie's production journey started on his PlayStation on a production game he found.

People were blown away that Lawrie did not have studio equipment, they took young Lawrie under their wing and decided to help him with vital knowledge on basic production information. The internet was not what it is today so Lawrie put in a lot of effort to learn everything he could about synthesis, he would rack his brain, for months on one topic until he learned everything he needed to know.

Full of questions and determination Lawrie still to this day dedicates his time, to learning new techniques for every genre of musical production. This paid off, Lawrie has a long list of musical achievements before StudioX under the name Lawrie B he was able to work at local radio station Fresh FM, he worked with techno producer Nick Skitz, and more!

Slowly but surely StudioX has become known in the industry, with plans to become even bigger, reaching a wider audience, and being able to stretch across multiple musical genres! Mat and Lawrie worked together to achieve their musical goals, and ended up working with huge artists like Psy' Aviah, Grendall, Simon Carter, Combichrist, Helalyn Flowers, Averice in Audio, Angelspit, and being signed to labels like Deathwatch Asia, LNG Australia, Sony, Alfa Matrix, The Oscillators, Alien Vampires, Technoid, I'Scillinta, Leather Strip, Implant, DJ Proteus, Depeche Mode, Unter Null, and more! As well as  performing at huge events such as Defqon 1 festival.

Recently StudioX has taken on a new member following Mat, leaving to take on his own journey, Bridgette Hill, a musical artist from Australia, Bridgette has to wanted to be a musician since childhood, she never had the opportunity to do so as a child, so as a teen she would sing and make songs in her own space, as a means for expressing herself, she has always had a love for art, as soon as she realised producing music in a studio you create is a possibility she has been working hard to learn what she needs to become a professional vocalist and instrumentalist. With her passion for business operation, and photography she has now become the new Manager for StudioX as well as the artistic producer for new album artwork, merch and more. Bridgette is also a song writer, so expect to see a lot of creative lyricism from her too!

StudioX is always creating new music, so keep an  eye out for this, follow our socials for updates!
